Birthday Day!

Today is my birthday. Yep, my 36th birthday! How can I feel so old but not so old all at the same time? It's crazy. I feel like I was just 23 and partying with friends and now I'm in bed before 10 and up before the sun! Time just seems to fly by the older I get!

A few weeks back I saw this awesome birthday post by Stephanie and was completely inspired. To celebrate her birthday she wrote a post about the best things in her life that are free. The best things in life are free and here are my things:

- Cuddling with Jack

- Sunday dinner with my family

- Watching Jack and other kids playing and enjoying themselves at the park.

- The smell of hyacinths in the spring

- Sand between my toes.

- A freshly washed comforter

- The filling the last word in a crossword puzzle or number in a sudoku puzzle.

- Sitting on my back deck after dark with a glass of wine.

- The smell of rain on a hot summer day.

- Inside jokes with your best friend

- The first day of spring when you don't have to wear a coat!

- Seeing how happy Jack makes other people.

- Beating the time set on your GPS

- Looking at old photo albums

- Your favorite song on the radio

- Dogs! Doggie kisses, doggie cuddles, doggie EVERYTHING!

- A thank you from a complete stranger

- Jack hugs!

- Hearing good news about people who truly deserve it.

These are just a few of the things that make me happy and they don't cost a penny. I intend on spending today with my favorite toddler. I took the day off and the weather looks amazing. It's going to be a park day for us and we may do a little shopping.

What are some of the best things in your life for free!

Surprise!

So I haven't been a good blogger lately. For the last 2 weeks my work schedule changed and between being exhausted all the time and not sleeping well I had a little surprise party I was planning. I've been sneaking around since March planning a surprise 30th birthday party for Brian!

The best part was he was SHOCKED! He thought I was picking him up from work and we were going to his cousin's college graduation party. When we pulled up and saw his Ghostbuster themed party he sat in the car he repeatedly said "What is this?"We decorated the backyard with Ghostbuster movie posters. Our colors were red, black and white. I printed out a bunch of pictures of Brian when he was little and all of his favorite moments and hung them in our tents.

As you can see pregnancy has not been good to my body. It looks like I've gained weight everywhere including my arms, boobs and all 3 chins!

Brian's mom pulled all of his Ghostbuster toys out of the attic and put them on display.

It was 93 degrees so just about everyone enjoyed the pool.

It was a fantastic day. I love seeing my husband so happy. His entire family came to the party which made it the perfect time to announce our 14 week old surprise!
Our family is so over joyed and that makes us very happy too!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

The BIG 30

Today I celebrate the 30th birthday of this crazy guy.

We don't have much planned for his special day. All he really wants to do is work out with his friend.

I have a little something special up my sleeve. We will celebrate with a lot of fun stuff planned in 2 weeks when we are on vacation.

Happy Birthday Brian. You have enriched my life everyday. I an't wait for all of the amazing things to come for us and I can't wait to see you become a daddy. You are my world!

Today we our love story is featured on LIFE OF LOVE. Be sure to check us our and show Sarah some love.

Happy Birthday

The day we picked up Bogart. His very first picture

It's hard to believe this little 4 pound puppy is 10 years old today. My Bogart has been a staple in my life for almost as long as my bestest friends. I got him the day before my college graduation. Can't you tell? I had not wrinkles in my forehead. Bogart has been with me through so many good times and bad times. He has cuddled me when I'm sick or sad and made me laugh like nothing else could. It makes me sad when I see him acting like a "senior"dog, as the vet calls him. I hate that term. He still hikes like a champion and plays like a puppy. He has brought me so much happiness and unconditional love. He's my baby boy. He will always be!

Last weekend we took a trip to the local Dog Shop, Scarlett's Way. The owner is a sweetheart. We talked for almost an hour and she was in love with how silly Bogart was.He ended up getting just about everything in the store; special "I Love You" cookies, a new sweater, eco friendly stuffed bone, hallowed bone for peanut butter, hiking canteen and travel water dish. Yep, he is spoiled!

Happy 10th Birthday, Bogart, Bog, Wubbie, Woogles, Woolies!

Happies and Crappies

Yay, it's Friday!!!

HAPPIES:

- My BIRTHDAY is tomorrow. I have not idea what is planned but I have decided to take the entire weekend to celebrate and have fun. Starting tonight with my parents tonight. YAY!

- It's SPRING. Ballet flats, capri pants, pretty colors, bare legs here we come...
Source: Millie on Pinterest

- I've completed 9 out of 12 classes with 3 left. I'm the one of three girls who have made it to every class! The threat of push ups and burpees are enough to make me get up so early.

- I'm feeling so strong! I feel muscle for the first time in forever. I'm seeing improvements too. I have been able to do 25 push ups with out stopping. I

- My Old Navy order showed up last night. FINALLY!

- I also scored a pair of Jessica Simpson jeans. I LOVE the fit of her clothes. They always seem to look and feel good on my body. I also love the $29 price tag!

-Did I mention my birthday?!?!?

CRAPPIES:

- Poor Brian came home from a work event with food poisoning. He was so sick last night. I was afraid we would end up in the ER. He was so dehydrated. Thankfully he is doing better this morning. I hate seeing him so sick.

- I'm having major muscle pain. It pretty much hurts everywhere. I'm battling a problem with my wrist which makes a lot of push ups and planks really difficult.

- It's spring to bad its freezing! Icky!

What are your happies and your crappies this week?

Playing Catch Up

I can't believe its been over a week since I posted anything. I wish I could say it was because we were out on some amazing adventures but it was really just a ton work hours and lack of inspiration. We did do our fair share of galavanting last week. I feel like I have to catch you up on our recent happenings.

Celebrated my husband's birthday!

Spent a lot of time at our best friend's new home.
They closed on a house 10 minutes from our front door.
YAY!

My little brother's surprise 30th birthday

Wedding pictures. I have over 900 to browse. Its insane! I'm attempting to find a few for thank you cards, some for blog posts, some for wedding albums. My brain my burst!

Swimming. This heat wave has been insane. Even Bogart got in on the action.

I went back to dark. The red haired gal just wasn't me. I needed a change.

Housesitting; Sadly while we were staying at Brian's family home his mother's dog took a turn for the worst and had to be put down. It was heartbreaking. The loss of a pet is never easy. I think it gets harder every time. We just have to believe our Bailey Boy is suffering no more.

Bailey last 4th of July.
Till we meet again just upon the rainbow bridge!

The 1 month mark has come and gone. This Saturday marked 1 month since the surgery to remove my ectopic pregnancy. Most days I still feel like I'm dangling from a string a sanity. Its been hard, really hard. Its been harder than I ever imagined. I think about it every day and I still cry almost every day. I gained weight and I don't really care. Most of the time I feel like a shell of the person I used to be. I find it difficult to have fun. I attempt to find the positive of things around me but I'm only human and I have setbacks, lots of them.  I understand people have it much worse than I do but I can't help but feel sorry for myself. Its been so hard doing every day to day things. I have cut down on reading blogs, considering 2 of my favorites have been recently based around their pregnancies and now my 3rd favorite blogger has announced her pregnancy. I really wish it wasn't so damn difficult. I genuinely am happy for them its just hard to see where they are and knowing I won't be. Life can be tough some times. No matter how difficult I'm finding life lately I still know I have a support system in my husband, friends and family. They have accepted every break down and given me the love and space I needed.

I promise, friends, I will get back to my normal self soon. I'm really trying!

Happy Birthday...

I feel like it was only yesterday I held you for the very first time.

You were so tiny and had my heart in a second.

Thank you for making me an Aunt.

Happy 3rd Birthday Little P

I'm so happy to be your Aunt Asquena.

Weekend Review... A bit late

3rd birthday//Wedding flowers one week old//Smooth criminal//
Brian and Cinco//Tart Deco//Silly kids in love

In addition we made some awesome honeymoon purchases, returned a ton of duplicates from our bridal registry. (I thought the idea of the registry is that you didn't get repeats?) Impromptu dance parties in our car. All and all a great weekend.

Can't wait to tell ya all about Cinco!
