One Tree Hill Fan Girl Moment

I'm not sure if I said it here before but I truly loved One Tree Hill. I didn't watch the show when it began although so many of my friends did. It wasn't until a vacation to Wilmington, North Carolina back in 2009 that I finally got into the show. Wilmington is where the filming of OTH took place (Dawson's Creek too. Another favorite) It was when we took a movie tour of Wilmington that we found out it is it's own little Hollywood. After being there I couldn't help but start watching when we returned home. I got a little addicted thanks to Netflix.

I don't follow many celebs on social media but I do follow Sophia Bush, who I adore. Over the weekend she posted a few photos of her OTH cast mates and I nearly fainted at the thought of a reunion movie/show. Yeah total fangirl moment! Apparently there was a One Tree Hill Convention in Paris over the weekend. Who knew there was such a thing???? It was actually the second convention called "From Wilmington to Paris"I can hear Gavin DeGraw in my head already. There are some rumors about a reboot. I am a little undecided on that though. The 90210 reboot was TERRIBLE. Almost all of the cast were there even crazy Nanny Carey and Skills but no Chad Michael Murray, whomp, whomp.

Either way, I got all nostalgic over the show but also my time spent in Wilmington. Brian and I have so many happy memories there. I love the north east but if I had the choice to move Wilmington would be the place. It's a perfectly, charming port city with lots of southern charm. I could absolutely see myself there .

Wilmington, NC

While on our vacation we stayed about 40 minutes outside of Wilmington, North Carolina. Wilmington is a small port city off the Cape Fear Coast with a charming history. Wilmington is probably known for a large amount of movies and tv shows filmed there. Two of my favorite including One Tree Hill and Dawson's Creek. The shops and restaurants are another favorite of ours. Just a bit of advice. If you are in Wilmington and love jewelry The Polka Dot Flamingo is the place to be! I now have several pieces of jewelry I purchased there and they are my most complimented pieces. Inexpensive too!!!

Brian and I visited Wilmington 3 years ago and we made it a point of going back this year and spending an entire day there. It's so easy to get caught up at one of their outside eateries while watching the river.

The last time we visited we spent most of our time enjoying the sites on land. We took a horse and carriage ride through the historic homes and we did a walking Hollywood tour. This time around we got on board a catamaran and enjoyed the sites up and down the river.

It's funny how I look at these pictures and the pictures from 2 years back. So much has changed in our lives but I love the memories made.

Vacation Recap

Well, I certainly didn't expect to skip almost a whole week of blogging but hey, work and life definitely got in the way last week. I'm happy to report the huge work project I had been working on is complete and I can breathe again!

Two weeks ago Brain and I took off on a 10 hour road trip to Oak Island, North Carolina. I was so excited to get away on our little babymoon trip. We had plans of relaxation on the beach and enjoying the company of one another for 6 days.

The last time we vacationed in North Carolina was 3 years ago. We were still dating. The engagement came the week after. It's amazing how things change!

So our vacation started off on a scary foot. We were just hitting the DC area when I read on Twitter that a shooting had taken place. We were stuck right before the Navy yard and could see what I assume were the ambulance taking victims to the hospital, helicopters doing their fly overs and military closing off much of DC. It was scary and our hearts were breaking for the people involved.

Once we got down to North Carolina this pregnant lady was a mess. I was swollen from top to bottom. I was unable to wear any of the shoes I had packed. I guess I didn't factor in the swelling part of the road trip. We went out to dinner and we were both out cold by 9pm.

The next several days were spent on a very empty beach and pool. Apparently, in North Carolina when the temps reach 75 no one hits the beach! We had beautiful weather the entire week. We played golf, took lots of walks and even spent some time in the gym together. I'm still sporting a pretty sweet tan that I hope lasts a little while longer. It was so nice to extend our summer an extra week.

Here are just a few snippets from our days at the beach.

I'll be back Wednesday to post a bit about our day trip to Wilmington.

Back...

We are back to the real world. Vacation was a blast but I am exhausted. This pregnant body was not made for 11 hour car rides. This morning I am swollen and sore in so many places and that is after 12 hours worth of sleep last night. I'm getting myself back into work mode although I really wish I took today off. I'm anticipating a brutal day. I could really use some happy thoughts to get me through it!

This week I'll be sure to post about our little babymoon to North Carolina but until then here are a few pictures from our trip.

If you follow me on Instagram you have probably seen most of them.

Have a fantastic Monday.
