Summer Bucket List

I feel like we just skipped right past spring this year. One day it was snowing and the next it was 73 degrees! We are roasting today. It's 86 degrees and the AC has been on today. It's because of the heat and our allergies are just insane the last few days.

- Visit the Farmer's Market for fresh veggies and fruit.

- Sprinkler play

- Plant flowers

- Go to the Sussex County Fair

- Take Jack to the beach

- Unplug for a full day!!!

- Read to Jack every night

- Teaching Jack to swim

- Berry and Peach picking at Och's Orchard

- Lot's of birthday parties.

- Spend the day at the Warwick Winery

- Dinners on the deck

- Nightly family walks!

- Free movies in the park!

- Take Jack to the zoo

- Take Jack to Van Saun Park for their splash pad

- Hit our fundraising goal for Jack's Cystic Fibrosis, Great Strides Walk or at least get really close!

- Family hikes

- Picnics in the park

- Taking Jack's 18 month photos.

- Get great results at Jack's annual CF testing!

- Do some home improvements around the house,

- Concerts and dinner picnic at the park

- Transition into my new job position...more on that coming soon!

What are your plans for the summer?

This Weekend I...

- Finally posted a picture to my Instagram account. Just click that little camera on the sidebar if you'd like to follow or just look for me, MrsGargano

- Enjoyed lots of time in the sun on Saturday. It was a beautiful day. I put my feet up, enjoyed some iced tea and listened to some Pandora while catching some rays. It was one of those perfect days. I also did not use enough SPF. I'm feeling a little crispy today.

- We attended two family BBQs so we had lots of family time. We spent time with both our dad's which is always important for us. Happy belated Father's Day to all our fave daddies!

- Last minute decision to see a drive in double feature. We love the drive in! We saw Man of Steel which was AWESOME and The Hangover 3. I dosed off the last hour. It was after midnight but it was also disappointing and boring. I was so exhausted yesterday!

Hope your weekend was as lovely as mine.
Now all I have to do is conquer this work week.

My Life Lately

Well, honestly my life lately hasn't been overly eventful. I wish it were so I had some sort of excuse for my lack of blog posts. I guess my blog rut is still in full affect. My lack of creativity is still lingering. While my creativity still sucks here are the things going on around here;

- For the last month I have been trying to spend a lot less. I haven't bought a Starbuck's coffee in over 3 weeks. I'm also trying to avoid shopping and over spending. I tend to overspend and it's about time I grow up and budgeted better. We've reduced our cable bill by $20 a month. I'm looking forward to seeing the difference in the next few months.

- Getting back to the Starbucks thing. I have given up caffeine. Crazy, right?!?!? If you know me well that is barely believable. Not only have I given up coffee but diet soda too which means no more fake sugar either. The first week was awful! AWFUL!!! I had a headache for 7 days but after the first week I felt fine. I'm sticking to water!

- We are getting stuff done around this house. I finally put my foot down and wrote a "Sh*t We Need To Do" List. I'm hoping sh*t gets done. This list hangs on our fridge so we both have to look at it each day. We have only crossed one thing off our list. Slowly things will get done.

- We have also tried to do daily chores rather than waiting for the weekend to get everything done. I'm usually the cleaner around here so it's been nice getting a little help each night. I like coming home to a house that is neat and clean.

- My best friend is due to have her baby today. Although we don't think it's going to happen anytime soon. That baby is nice and comfy where he/she is. She has been home from work for the last month and we have been spending lots of time together before baby comes. Our husbands have been doing Insanity together so it gives us time together almost every night.

- It's finally feeling like summer around here. We broke out the first fire of the season and with fire come S'mores!

What has been going on in your life lately?

Fill in the Blank Friday...On Saturday

1.  My favorite thing to do on Friday is     spend time with my mom. My husband works till 10 on Fridays so we like to get together have dinner and usually shop!

2.   This Friday I am   (Since it was yesterday)I worked until about 3:30pm and than my mom and I went shopping and than out to a local restaurant for an amazing spinach salad.I was out cold before 10pm.

3.  The best thing about a weekend is    that there is usually fun to be had. With my husband's recent promotion he no longer needs to work on Saturdays! I'm super excited. I love that on the weekends we can finally fix up the house, go to farmer's markets, wineries and date nights .

4. Now that summer is almost over, I'm feeling     a bit torn. I love the summer and the fall. I hate to see the summer end BUT I love the crisp fall air, pumpkin latte, Oktoberfest, apple picking.

5. The best thing I did this summer was  our honeymoon! SPending endless days on pink sand beaches of Bermuda.

6. The thing I'm looking forward to about fall is  the festivals but I love just about everything. I love celebrating the day we were engaged in an apple orchard.

7.  If I had to be stuck in one season for the rest of my life, I would choose   fall...no doubt about it.

Farewell Summer, Hello Fall Swap

Can you believe its August 17th already??? I can not believe summer is just slipping through my fingers. I just love the summer and everything that comes along with it; sun, sand, and a great tan. With that being said I still yearn for the fall; scarves, apple picking and of course everything pumpkin spice. Both Stephanie, The Vintage Modern Wife, and I have been in talks for a while about a swap and what kind of swap we wanted to host. I think we have stumbled upon the perfect one!

Our "Farewell Summer, Hello Fall!" swap pairs 2 of my favorite seasons. This swap can range from anything that you want to hold onto from summer (bright nail polish, self-tanner, etc) to the things you love about the fall (pencils, stationery, candles, scarves, coffee etc). Most importantly its about having fun, meeting new blogger buddies and being creative!

Come join The Vintage Modern Wife & Pretty Rambles for the "Farewell Summer, Hello Fall!" Swap. http://www.futuremrsmathewwolfe.blogspot.com

Our Swap Timeline:

August 17 - August 31: Sign-ups will take place. Use the Google docs form below to sign up.

Saturday,  September 1: Stephanie and Kristina will email you your swap partner.

Monday, September 10: Packages need to be mailed by today at the latest

Friday, September 14: We'll post a link-up and swappers can start blogging about their goodies that day.

The Requirements:

- There's a $15 minimum spending limit before shipping. (Be creative!)

- This swap is only for U.S. residents.

- If you sign up, please be serious about this. Stephanie and I would hate for anyone to end up empty-handed.

- You must have an active blog so you can post about the swap.
If you sign up and can't do the swap after all, please let myself  or Stephanie know ASAP, so that we can reassign partners.

Helpful Tips:

-Please head over to your swap partner's blog so you can get to know them.

-Also, when mailing, if you have any breakables, please make sure you wrap them so they don't break.

-Additionally, we suggest adding tracking to your package so you and your swap partner can confirm they were sent and delivered (this is optional of course).

Help Us Out:

In order for our swap to be successful, we need you to help spread the word! Please add our swap button to your blog (sidebar or in your posts), pin to Pinterest, tweet about it , etc. The more people we can get to swap, the more fun this will be! Please feel free to copy the text below to tweet.

Oh How Pinteresting...

My most favorite fashion in the summer is WHITE PANTS! I love how crisp and classy they look. I have several pair. Just bought a pair of white, linen pants from Old Navy. If it wasn't hotter than h*ll in these parts I would have already worn them.

Playing Catch Up

I can't believe its been over a week since I posted anything. I wish I could say it was because we were out on some amazing adventures but it was really just a ton work hours and lack of inspiration. We did do our fair share of galavanting last week. I feel like I have to catch you up on our recent happenings.

Celebrated my husband's birthday!

Spent a lot of time at our best friend's new home.
They closed on a house 10 minutes from our front door.
YAY!

My little brother's surprise 30th birthday

Wedding pictures. I have over 900 to browse. Its insane! I'm attempting to find a few for thank you cards, some for blog posts, some for wedding albums. My brain my burst!

Swimming. This heat wave has been insane. Even Bogart got in on the action.

I went back to dark. The red haired gal just wasn't me. I needed a change.

Housesitting; Sadly while we were staying at Brian's family home his mother's dog took a turn for the worst and had to be put down. It was heartbreaking. The loss of a pet is never easy. I think it gets harder every time. We just have to believe our Bailey Boy is suffering no more.

Bailey last 4th of July.
Till we meet again just upon the rainbow bridge!

The 1 month mark has come and gone. This Saturday marked 1 month since the surgery to remove my ectopic pregnancy. Most days I still feel like I'm dangling from a string a sanity. Its been hard, really hard. Its been harder than I ever imagined. I think about it every day and I still cry almost every day. I gained weight and I don't really care. Most of the time I feel like a shell of the person I used to be. I find it difficult to have fun. I attempt to find the positive of things around me but I'm only human and I have setbacks, lots of them.  I understand people have it much worse than I do but I can't help but feel sorry for myself. Its been so hard doing every day to day things. I have cut down on reading blogs, considering 2 of my favorites have been recently based around their pregnancies and now my 3rd favorite blogger has announced her pregnancy. I really wish it wasn't so damn difficult. I genuinely am happy for them its just hard to see where they are and knowing I won't be. Life can be tough some times. No matter how difficult I'm finding life lately I still know I have a support system in my husband, friends and family. They have accepted every break down and given me the love and space I needed.

I promise, friends, I will get back to my normal self soon. I'm really trying!

OHP...Hello Summer...Clothes

I have seriously missed linking up with Michelle the last few weeks. I guess thats where a blog rut leads you. Well, I'm back.

So I must admit I love looking at summer fashion but I am a self professed girl who hates shorts. Well at least I hate the way my body looks in shorts. These darn things get shorter each year too. No one should really be subjected to seeing my legs in short shorts. I picked up a couple of cute mid length shorts and Bermudas but I mostly wear sundresses during the warm months. Since planning our honeymoon I am even more in love with summer fashion. These are some of my most recent pins.
