SOS- Date Night Red Skinnies

This Saturday Brian and I went out on a romantic dinner to kick off a wonderful week because by this time next week I will be a married woman!!! Holy crap! We had a super busy weekend and the past few months have been stressful and full of lots of stress induced fighting. We want to thoroughly enjoy this next week. I am less of a nag when things get accomplished so now that almost everything is done I feel less cranky and I'm sure Brian loves that.

Saturday we started off early. I got my hair done, Brian donated blood to a local boy in need (I didn't because I'm still recuperating from last week and my veins are all screwed up from the bad dehydration) We finished all our groomsmen, ring bearer, parents and bridesmaids gifts. After all our busy work we headed out to a nice dinner.

We had planned on one place and no joke we couldn't find the place! It was an adorable little place on a lake. So instead we hit a local brewery. Two dollar Killian's Irish Red, I was sold. I haven't eaten much all week and lost 7 pounds. I wouldn't suggest it but I felt skinny so I broke out the red skinnies!

Tomorrow starts a crazy wedding week. I have some scheduled posts for the next few days. I hope you will bear with me. Later on this week I will entrusting my blog to some super sweet chicks. I hope you enjoy!

Steppin Out-Boyce Avenue

This Saturday we hit the historic Wellmont Theater in Montclair to see Boyce Avenue. Have you heard of them? I fell in love after listening to their cover of "We Found Love" The bonus had to be Secondhand Serenade.

Details:
Jeans and bag: NY and Co
Top: Forever 21 (Not really digging the empire waist so much)
Jacket: Target
Flats: Charlotte Russe
Necklace: Stella and Dot.

After a pretty great show we found ourselves at a Sonic car hop with a hot dog and cherry limeade. Why bother being adults and getting a martini in Montclair when we can pig out at 1am in a Sonic?

Its been an exhausting weekend. Worked on Saturday, concert and spent today in Long Island with Brian's grandparents.
Can't believe the weekend is over!
Back to the grind tomorrow.

Steppin Out Saturday-Mediterranean

I am finally getting back normal around here. My lungs are not really 100% yet but I'm getting there. I've been so tired of sitting around that I forced my body to get dressed and go out yesterday. Nothing to exciting but we had a $100 gift card to Lowes in desperate need of spending and a hideous ceiling fan in need of replacing. Seriously, I've wanted this fan before we moved in and that was almost 3 years ago. I can't wait to put it up.

I also had to treat my guy out to dinner. He was so awesome this week taking care of me. I wanted to show my appreciation for all he does. I never really take him out on dates so it was far overdue. He choose a favorite Greek place. The Mediterranean Garden Cafe is by far the best Greek food I've ever had. I had Moroccan soup and Greek salad. Brian had a Kebob and we split hummus, bag ganoush, grilled eggplant and tabouli, Outrageous food!

(Like how I'm soaking my stove top burners in the sink or the dishes drying on the counter?)
Not many places to take pictures when its cold out but I'm a fan of the blue kitchen!

Details:
Jeggings: NY&co
Coral Tank: Old Navy

Love the flowers on this tank and the bows on my shoes!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
Yay NY GIANTS! On our way to sunny San Fran next week.

Steppin Out Saturday- Spring in January

We had the most perfect weather this weekend. Living in the mountains of NJ I'd never think temps would hit almost 60 degrees in January but it did yesterday. Although I'm still feeling sick I had to get out and enjoy the weather. I got up early and hit the mall. I was actually driving with the windows open. it was glorious. As were the sales at the mall. I've never shopped at Aerie until yesterday I bought 3 blouses, 1 cardigan and a pair of sweats for under $60. I will definitely be shopping there more often. I also did pretty good in H&M and Francesca's Collection.

Last night we stepped out to our Brian's office Christmas party. This is our last holiday party of the season. Yep, 7 days after New Years and we are still at it. Although I hate to see the holidays go I am over the parties and unhealthy eating. My waistline will thank me once I get back to normal eating habits. Luckily for me some of Brian's coworkers are watching their calories too and there were lots of healthy goodies to chose from. We had a fun night. I'm feeling the aftermath of several glasses of wine. Probably not the best idea to skip the cold medicine for red wine:/

Here is what I wore:
I have to admit I usually hate the way I look when I do this link up. I don't like my body since I gained about 10 pounds. I have this horrific fear I will gain back the 50 I have already lost. Thanks to working out I actually really like the way I looked last night.

Welcome 2012 In Style

We welcomed 2012 in with love, friends, plenty of laughter and unlucky for me a terrible sore throat! We started out our night at my best friend's place for sushi. Everyone thought it was so delicious and I couldn't taste a thing. My throat only got worse as the night progressed. I had droopy eyes the entire night. I was far from drunk but it looks like I was trashed. After sushi headed to Crystal Springs Resort for some music and drinks.

Details:
Dress: Mandee
Sale for $10 probably because it was way to short
Leggings: Victoria's Secret
Boots: Not pictured, Bitten
Cardigan: Old Navy
Ring, handbag and Earrings: NY and Co

Our bartender, best friend's little sister.
She made us blood orange martinis topped with pomegranates.
It was a nice temporary fix for the sore throat from hell.

Photo bomb!

His sexy face.

Fresh flower centerpieces made the tavern smell amazing.
Gingerbread houses lined the resort.

Champagne and Rocking New Year's Eve.

I spent today on the couch. My sore throat has progressed into a terrible ear ache and headache.
Not the way I would have liked to start the year off but I can't wait for this year!
I'M GETTING MARRIED THIS YEAR!!!

Stepping Out Saturday... Plain White T

Oh my goodness it has been a crazy weekend. Seriously a non stop adventure. I have so very much to tell you. I will update on all the good details soon.

Saturday was a great day. I competed in a 5K Turkey Trot early in the day,Post about that soon and my reward for a great race was a sushi dinner with B, my best friend and her husband.

I love a fresh new white T-shirt. Its a simple outfit but jeans and a tee are really my favorite kinda outfit.

After the race today my knees and shins were pretty sore so I went with the most comfy flats I own.

Wooo, look at the tree!
We decorated Black Friday and then I stuffed all the gifts  I purchased for donation under the tree.

I love this F21 necklace but the edges are so sharp and the leave cut my neck when I wear it.
Sometimes beauty really is pain.

SOS- My Best Friend's Wedding

Yesterday my oldest and dearest friend Jaclyn got married. It was such a lovely, fall day. She looked amazing. She was definitely glowing. She was as calm as could be. I was amazing at how calm she was. I was a mess. I always cry at weddings. Especially when I see some one I love so happy.

I wore two outfits. One for the church and one for the reception.

Here is what I wore:

How beautiful is she?!?!

I love the ruffles on the dress although I don't think you can really see them.
I'm super self conscious. I feel like they look like chub or fat rolls.
Am I ridiculous???

Steppin out Saturday-OKTOBERFEST

Its been a crazy weekend so far. I'm so happy I have 2 extra days off. Right this second is the first time I slowed down and actually sat on my couch all weekend. I'm spent. Just played a softball double header. We are terrible. We lost both but I'm proud of myself for making several plays in the field and watching B pitch a few incredible innings. We also got to spend some time with our new teammates over free pizza and some Sam Adams.

I'm linking up with Mandy.

Although I'm still a week behind last Saturday we went to Oktoberfest at Bear Mountain. Beautiful NY fall weather, craft vendors, German food, beer and friends. Only downfall of the day was breaking my camera. Thats 2 cameras in 2 years. The first took a dive into a hot tub filled with water on vacation and this one slipped through B's hands and onto a concrete bench. Not a purchase I was hoping on making but I can't really live with a camera held together by packing tape.

Bear Mountain is BEAUTIFUL this time of year.

We met up with my future MIL and her pups Brandy and Bailey

Love this shot

We hiked about 2 miles around the water before we indulged in some Spateen

The colors are changing
