Oh Hey Friday

Happy Friday Friends. With spring upon us and the weekend around the corner I can't help but be excited about it.

- It's March!!! Finally! Bring on the green grass, flowers, days at the park, St. Paddy's Day and Easter! I'm so ready for Spring. Nothing makes me happier than that first day of not having to wear a winter coat. This year we went right from the coat to the tank tops this week!

- Jack has shown a lot of interest in baby dolls lately. He never liked stuffed animals or showed interest in them. Last week he went shopping with my mom and begged he for a baby in a carriage. The only reason she didn't get it was because it was $40. The other day while shopping with me I picked one up for him. I have nothing against boys playing with dolls and actually thinks its great to teach them how to care for something else. (We have been asking daddy for a new dog too. That may also help.) Plus, its a nice departure from the constant trains!

- Fuller House- Oh my goodness! Brings back so many memories. I just wish that Netflix would have run some of the original episodes. Growing up I loved Full House on Friday nights and remember the first episode so vividly. I have to admit that some of the weird jokes make me cringe. It's kind of strange. Am I the only one? I'm really wishing that it would get better. I'm trying to avoid binge watching like I usually do.


- The Walking Dead- Yep, my husband and I are hooked. He started watching it on Netflix a few weeks ago and we are hooked. We were up till 3am on Saturday watching. It's like we can't stop! How did I wait this long!?!?

- The best news of all is a new baby, our family welcomed my new cousin Noah into the world during the early hours of the morning. He's so new we don't even have a picture yet!

Confessions

It's time for this week's version of I Confess along with Confessions of a Northern Belle. 

First off I have to confess I have become a Walking Dead ADDICT. It's quite bad actually. Back when it first premiered we watched the first episode and never watched again. Two weeks ago I got home from my parent's house to find Brian completely immersed in the first season on Netflix. I got hooked. We were up till all hours of the night this weekend and we are already on season 5! This show is so addicting. The cliffhangers get me all the time! It reminds me a lot of Breaking Bad and how addicted I got to that too. Oh, AMC what are you doing to me!?!?! 

We are total addicts!

It's March so it is officially Easter time around here. I already got all of Jack's Easter goodies, decorations are up. I don't care if it's supposed to snow this week it is still spring time for me. I'm loving every second of it. Plus March is my birthday month so I'm extra happy it's here!

Since it's Easter time I should probably confess my addiction for jelly beans. I don't want any of those black licorice ones. I want the sour Jelly Belly, Starburst and Jolly Rancher. They are not safe around me this time of year! 

Moms at the park. I have to say that I can't stand the majority of the mom's at our local park. Seriously, WATCH YOUR KID!!!! Just because your  child is older doesn't mean you can sit on a bench 20 feet away, drinking your coffee and talking on the phone. Your 5 year old is trampling all the little kids and pushing them around. I don't want to sound like a jerk but come on. Watch your child. Even more than watching your child, have fun with them. Play with them. Let them enjoy your company! Time is so precious!!!!

Spring Favorites for Jack

Yesterday I picked out some of my spring fashion favorites so I thought it would only be fair to share some of my favorites for Jack this season. I can't help myself when it comes to little boy clothes. I always thought it would be more fun to shop for little girls but I'm having good time dressing up my little man. I can't help a little boy in a fedora and polo shirt. What's not on this list is the pair of baby Sperry Topsiders I already bought him. I can't wait to see him in his little Easter outfit.

What are you loving for your little one this spring. 

Currently

Taking...more time for myself and family. We stay in a lot the last several weekend. I used to be on the go all the time and the weekends were spent spending time with Jack, shopping and spending money. It wasn't much fun for him or my wallet. I realize spending time in our pajamas on the weekends can be perfect. Most weekends are now spent cooking for the week, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and just enjoying my husband and son (and the extra cash in my wallet). 

Drinking... a lot of Dunkin iced coffee thanks to the refillable cups. $1.49, yes please. White chocolate raspberry coffee for the win! 

Keeping a list... of all the events I have coming up in March. Wedding shower, baby shower, Confirmation and finding time to squeeze in my birthday.

Wishing... the opportunity I may have pans out! 

Wearing... my winter best! Lots of sweaters, dark colors and scarves! 

Hating... WINTER. It has been a brutal few months. It's dark, gray and very cold!!!

Reading...I haven't read anything in a long time. I am hoping to get The Fringe Hours. Heard lots of really good things. 

Regretting...Not getting to the gym or Zumba at all. My body hates me and it's only going to get worse once I start getting back into taking care of my body. 

Playing...Lots of toddler games! Setting up railroad tracks. Lots of ball toss and soccer. 

Watching...Started House Of Cards this weekend and I wasn't as pulled in as I thought I would be. Bummed How To Get Away With Murder is over for the season. Did you watch the finale?!?!? AMAZING!!! 

Loving...Spending time with Jack. We have become part of a story time at our local bookstore. He LOVES the other kids. I enjoy watching him interact and making friends!!! I love watching him try to hug all the girls!!! 

Appreciating...The opportunity that I was given in hopes that it will pan out and things will get a whole lot better for my little family and me! 

Counting down...Days until it's light out when I leave work at night, SPRING, green grass, tulips, ballet flats, pretty clothes.

Dreaming of Spring

There is no denying it. I HATE winter! The winters in the Northeast are the worst. I feel like they get worse every year. This week we saw temps reach -20. I don't think I've ever witnessed anything that cold. I tend to get down in the winter too. I am in desperate need of some Vitamin D!!! I hate wishing away days but I can not wait for the beautiful spring days. I feel like they are so close; yet so far away. Until the beautiful spring days arrive I'll just dream of the great things waiting for us in April. 

- The smell of hyacinths. 

- Driving with the windows down (maybe turning the music up)

- Pastels

- Birds chirping

- Outside trips to the winery

- Marigold trees blooming

- Sunshine

- Our 3rd Wedding Anniversary

- Longer days

- Hiking the Appalachian Trail

 - Wearing ballet flats. 

- Pretty clothes

- The vibrant colors of tulips and daffodils

- Taking Bogart for long walks (with out freezing)

-Baseball season (go Yankees)

- The occasional bear siting

- Long walks with the family

OHP SPRING

Hello friends. I have been such a busy little bee. I can't wait to post more about it too. This week has been nothing short of hectic. Between the stress of work, taking on a second job, bootcamp and a pulled groin I am wiped. Yes, I am asleep by 9pm every nightThe good news is it almost sort of feels like Spring. Well, its better than 30 degrees, right?!?! With Easter right around the corner and temps near 50 I am so ready.

Happies and Crappies

Yay, it's Friday!!! 

HAPPIES: 

- My BIRTHDAY is tomorrow. I have not idea what is planned but I have decided to take the entire weekend to celebrate and have fun. Starting tonight with my parents tonight. YAY! 

- It's SPRING. Ballet flats, capri pants, pretty colors, bare legs here we come...

- I've completed 9 out of 12 classes with 3 left. I'm the one of three girls who have made it to every class! The threat of push ups and burpees are enough to make me get up so early. 

- I'm feeling so strong! I feel muscle for the first time in forever. I'm seeing improvements too. I have been able to do 25 push ups with out stopping. I

- My Old Navy order showed up last night. FINALLY! 

- I also scored a pair of Jessica Simpson jeans. I LOVE the fit of her clothes. They always seem to look and feel good on my body. I also love the $29 price tag! 

-Did I mention my birthday?!?!?

CRAPPIES: 

- Poor Brian came home from a work event with food poisoning. He was so sick last night. I was afraid we would end up in the ER. He was so dehydrated. Thankfully he is doing better this morning. I hate seeing him so sick. 

- I'm having major muscle pain. It pretty much hurts everywhere. I'm battling a problem with my wrist which makes a lot of push ups and planks really difficult. 

- It's spring to bad its freezing! Icky!

Just Because- Spring Where Are You?

Spring starts in just 2 days.

You would never have guessed by my commute home last night and what I saw when I woke up to this morning. It looks like 7 inches or so. I can't say it enough but thank goodness for my Jeep. The commute home last night was horrific. So many accidents and cars spinning out of control.

It's like the winter that just won't end! I really can't wait for capris, sandals, pastels and temps about 42 degrees! Last year at this time I remember the temps around 70 degrees. I think I was spoiled but I've had just about enough.

Mr. Groundhog.... You're FIRED!

I'm taking a half day to prep for my b-day (tomorrow) and my bridal shower...shhhhh! I'm not supposed to know BUT my adorable fiancé made a little slip last weekend. We are pretending I didn't hear anything for my momma. I know she has been working so hard on it. Cant wait to see some of my best girls this weekend. I really am excited and honored to know my mom and friends have worked so hard just for me!
