Let's Be Thankful Swap Reveal- A Day Late

BorrowedHeaven

I don't do swaps as often as I used to but I really do love them especially around the holiday season. I decided to participate in Meg and Alex's swap because Meg is one of my favorite bloggers!

My favorite part about this swap is I was actually paired up with Meg! Meg and I became blog friends several years back after we were paired together for a holiday swap! I remember from several years ago how kind and giving Meg was and she did not disappoint this time around either. Meg is such a giving and kind person it was really easy to shop for her.

Check out these goodies. Oh yeah and I totally stole this picture from Meg (Thanks girl)
To be honest I ate the South Carolina Beef Jerky for dinner and the Charleston Chew for desert the night it arrived. When you have a baby and get home at 7:30 most nights you don't get dinner all the time.

Another thing I love about Meg is our mutual love of the NY Yankees so the gloves she sent me are perfect. She knows I love coffee and moon pie flavored coffee sounds amazing to me. She also included some Pumpkin scented car fresheners, red nail polish (wearing it now!), some sleep lotion for my son who NEVER sleeps and some cozy socks.

Most importantly Meg filled an adorable gift bag with goodies for the little girl I chose in our church's giving tree this year. The bag included crayons, stickers, hair clips, and bracelets. I cried when I saw all the extras Meg included for her. As always Meg's huge heart really showed in this swap!

Thank you so very much Meg.

It's OK

It's OK
Its Ok Thursdays

- To be completely food obsessed this week. Since I joined Weight Watchers I'm addicted to my 2 mobile apps to track everything. I really want to lose this weight.

- To sit in the back of my Weight Watchers meeting and cry a little.

- For my knees to hurt 4 days after catching my first game of the softball season. Nothing makes me fell older than softball season.

- To go 0 for 2 in above softball game but feel great because B pitched a fantastic game.

- To be pretty upset my swap partner never got in touch with me. I have $15 worth of Fall and Summer goodies and no one to send them too. Can't tell if I want to keep them or do a giveaway. What do you think?

- To be ready for Fall. The weather has just been amazing but the cold nights with hoodies and blankets make me long for pumpkin picking and Halloween decorating.

- To spend a $100 on toys for my nephew when we found out he was going to be a big brother.

- To be completely in love with this little guy. Welcome to the world my little nephew, Ryan Michael. Born 3 weeks early but very healthy! Lungs are great! Just a very tired little guy!

Happy Thursday everyone! Have a wonderful day!

Weekend Update

Talk about a blog break. Four days and it kind of felt great. A few weeks back I blogged about not having the desire to blog. My my blog friend, Alli, told me not to blog if I'm not into it. She was so correct. I felt like I was pulling stuff out and not all of it was interesting, fun and sometimes I felt like I was being fake. Inside my heart I felt sadness but I was posting about happy crap. It was very fake to me. I've taken her advice and I'm pretty pleased with it. It feels good to not feel pressure.

So here are just a few things going on in my life lately.

- I made Brian try Indian Food. It was amazing and he loved it! I enjoy being able to introduce him to new things. The Clay Oven is the best Indian Food I have ever tried. It was amazing.

- My asked me to be her date for a 25th wedding anniversary party. My mom's best friend and her husband renewed their vows this weekend. It was wonderful. It was such a beautiful example of what love should be, whether you are married one year, 25 or 50. It's so nice to celebrate true love like that. Only problem I had was falling down the stairs at my parent's house. It was bad. I am in a ton of pain. I can't sit or lay down. I'm ashamed to admit it but thank goodness I have a lot of extra padding on my so I didn't think I would be as bruised as I am. My entire butt is bruised! I hurt my elbow pretty bad too.

A wine basket we made for the happy couple. I was holding this when to took that tumble down the stairs. Everything in the basket was fragile. Thank goodness everything was saved.

- Brian and I hiked part of the Appalachian Trail. Not the best idea after busting my butt the day before.  I love the people you meet when you hike the trail. We met a guy and his dog who were hiking from Maine down to Georgia. We were able to give him so spots in NJ just off the trail where he can get food, shower and shelter from the next 3 days when its raining. He was so grateful.

- I also sent out all of our swap emails. I am so excited to be paired with The Preppy Student. I already started shopping!!!

I love long weekends for obvious reasons. I love that Brian and I can spend time together but also enjoy our time apart. I love the time we spend doing simple things with out spending money. We don't get a chance to do it often with our busy lives but when we do we have a blast.

What are your favorite things to do on long weekends?

Fill in the Blank Friday...On Saturday

1.  My favorite thing to do on Friday is     spend time with my mom. My husband works till 10 on Fridays so we like to get together have dinner and usually shop!

2.   This Friday I am   (Since it was yesterday)I worked until about 3:30pm and than my mom and I went shopping and than out to a local restaurant for an amazing spinach salad.I was out cold before 10pm.

3.  The best thing about a weekend is    that there is usually fun to be had. With my husband's recent promotion he no longer needs to work on Saturdays! I'm super excited. I love that on the weekends we can finally fix up the house, go to farmer's markets, wineries and date nights .

4. Now that summer is almost over, I'm feeling     a bit torn. I love the summer and the fall. I hate to see the summer end BUT I love the crisp fall air, pumpkin latte, Oktoberfest, apple picking.

5. The best thing I did this summer was  our honeymoon! SPending endless days on pink sand beaches of Bermuda.

6. The thing I'm looking forward to about fall is  the festivals but I love just about everything. I love celebrating the day we were engaged in an apple orchard.

7.  If I had to be stuck in one season for the rest of my life, I would choose   fall...no doubt about it.

Farewell Summer, Hello Fall Swap

Can you believe its August 17th already??? I can not believe summer is just slipping through my fingers. I just love the summer and everything that comes along with it; sun, sand, and a great tan. With that being said I still yearn for the fall; scarves, apple picking and of course everything pumpkin spice. Both Stephanie, The Vintage Modern Wife, and I have been in talks for a while about a swap and what kind of swap we wanted to host. I think we have stumbled upon the perfect one!

Our "Farewell Summer, Hello Fall!" swap pairs 2 of my favorite seasons. This swap can range from anything that you want to hold onto from summer (bright nail polish, self-tanner, etc) to the things you love about the fall (pencils, stationery, candles, scarves, coffee etc). Most importantly its about having fun, meeting new blogger buddies and being creative!

A Pi Day Swap

Last month I joined up with Krystal, Erin, and Jen for an interesting 3.14, Pi Day spring swap.

The fun part about the swap was the 3 1 4 idea. 3 paper items 1 accessory And 4 pastel items I was partnered up with Jess for the swap. Go pop over to her blog today to check out the goodies I got her.

Here are some of my treats.
My 3 paper items included colorful container, 3 packs of thank you cards
Jess is so sweet she knew with my wedding coming she through in an extra set

My 1 accessory was a blue, satin hair band.

My 4 pastel items were purple nail polish, 2 anti bacterial hand creams, and a shower puff.

Awesome stuff right? I already used the nail polish and got a bunch of compliments. The thank you cards are perfect. I'm going to use the adorable yellow ones for my bridesmaids since my wedding colors are green and yellow. I work with kids so the antibacterial stuff is always an essential.

Thanks so much Jess. I love everything. It was wonderful shopping for you and most of all I'm so glad I got the chance to check out and follow your blog!!!

By the way...Have you checked out and entered my giveaway yet? If not, GO
