My Black Friday

Happy belated Turkey Day everyone !Is everyone still stuffed? We are feeling a little under the weather around these parts! Poor Jack is sick, again. This makes 3 times in 3 months! Talk about building immunity! He was all about sharing this Thanksgiving so my husband and I have the sniffles too!  It's been a rough couple of weeks since my miscarriage and I'm still feeling down in the dumps so today we've decided to lay around the house and take it easy. My husband is working extra hours so he probably won't be home till after 10 tonight so its just me and a sick toddler. Here are a few things getting me through today.

1. Coffee and left over desserts!- Thankfully my aunt sent me home with some pumpkin cookies and cake pops because nothing cures the blues like homemade sweets! Pair it with the extra caffeine I'm going to need to get me through!

2. Tylenol- I'm not a real medicine taker but I have been in pair for almost 2 weeks. The cramping has been much worse than I expected and I've rallied through it all but add a nasty cold and headache this girl has given up! Load me up with all the medicine!

3. Comfy Jammies and lots of Snuggles- I'm all about the comfort lately. I just picked up some comfy lounge clothes last weekend on my solo trip to Target. They are perfect for snuggling up my sick little boy!

4. Christmas Movie Marathon- I'm a firm believer a good Christmas movie can change a rough day to a good day! I've already watched Home Alone, The Christmas Card, Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas and Elf!

5. Online Sales- I really don't need much BUT I couldn't resist 60% off almost everything at Old Navy.  Carter's had some great stuff but every darn thing was already old out! Bummer! I'll just wait till Monday. I'm not doing a huge shop but I do like to online window shop!

This weekend I...

Wish I could be blogging about exciting stuff like hanging out in the pool, catching a tan while driving an ice cold bud light with lime. But no, that is not how my weekend went at all.

- Instead I spent this weekend  sick. Horribly, nastily, and on the couch ALL weekend sick. Started off late Thursday night, doctor's office on Friday and knocked out the rest of the time. Looks like it's another case of bronchitis. I'm having a tough time breathing and my sinuses are on fire. I was just sick back in early April. Ain't nobody got time for that.


- Being sick makes me cranky, whiny and needy. I hate it. I was such a jerk all weekend. It's been about 90 degrees and I just could not get cool even with the AC all the way down to 68. I think my cheapo husband's wallet might be crying after this weekend.


- Television this weekend was pretty terrible so I caught up on some old movies I've been wanting to watch but haven't had the time. Pitch Perfect was AWESOME. I know I'm about 6 months late on that one but it was great. I also watched He's Just Not That Into You. I'm about 4 years late on this one. I read this book years ago when I was in a relationship with a guy that was just not that into me. I loved the book. I may even have it with notes around this house. The movie was good. Nothing fantastic but just made me dislike Scarlett Johansosn a little bit more.

- I can't forget the season premiere of The Real Housewives of New Jersey!!!! It was awful as usual but it is such a guilty pleasure. Almost everything Bravo andAndy Cohen does is. I also followed it up with the Princesses of Long Island. I can not stress enough how HORRIBLE these women are. Ugh, I was disgusted and annoyed by them in the first 10 minutes. Won't be watching that again.

Maybe next weekend I'll have a great time and have lots of awesomeness to blog about.

This weekend I did a lot of sleeping, coughing, vaporizing and humidifying.

Yep, I am sick. I haven't felt this bad in a long time. I hate being sick. I hate feeling lazy and week. On Saturday I attempted to clean some of the houses. I got through a few rooms and I was wiped out. On Saturday night I couldn't sleep or breathe. I felt like it was a asthma attack although I don't have asthma. Finally Sunday morning I made Brian take me to urgent care. After a check up and a breathing treatment I was diagnosed with nasty bronchitis. I was sent home with cough syrup, antibiotics, prednisone, and an inhaler. I'm out of work till at least Wednesday. I'm run down and I'm wiped out.

The one productive thing I did wall weekend was help my mom find a dress for my brother's wedding this coming winter. It was so weird being back in a bridal store. I haven't been in one since last April. It was so weird being stress free. I had no stress involved with this visit. It was perfect. I'm not in the wedding party so I have no stress about bridesmaid gowns, fitting into anything or wearing something some one else picks for you. Instead, the stress was all on my mom. We did find some of the most beautiful dresses for her to try on.

We found this adorable bridal shop, Chrissy O. Here were her favorites.









I loved them all. She was torn between the second and the last. Mom ended up going with the last dress. She went with a forest green. She is going to look beautiful in it.

Life Lately....

Haven't done a life lately update in quite a while. What a whirlwind life has been. I can't believe its's January 7th. When did that happen????? The holidays went by so very fast. If only the rest of the winter would go by as fast! I can't stand the winter. 

So here is whats been going on in our life lately: 

Said goodbye to an old car. Rocking the new Jeep. Still loving the look of the Christmas lights. I'm delaying their take down. After Christmas Target sales, $1 for a tree topper. Yes please! Monster tissues, yep still icky sicky but getting better. Snow, snow, lots of it but its finally melting thanks to a a warm up this week. New bracelets and new winter hats!

Dear Christmas/New Years,
I can't believe you're over already. Makes me sad that its all over. It was wonderful. Can't wait to see you again. Next time, slow down!

Dear Trusty Rusty Cavalier,
Thank you pretty baby! You have been a good car. I'm going to miss you. Especially the sun roof. What I won't miss is the broken driver side window that only rolled down when it wanted too; never at the Starbucks drive thru line and never rolled up especially in 12 degree temps. But I will miss you! Eleven years and never one "real" issue.

Dear Cold/Strop Throat,
Whatever you are, you are making me miserable! You ruined Christmas and New Years Eve festivities. A full week on antibiotics and no real improvement. My nose is on fire and my chest still hurts. Go away!

Dear Diet,
Sorry I've ignored you recently. I promise to get back to you soon. My pants are going to start feeling a little tight again if I don't back to you again soon.

Dear New Jeep,
Can't wait to get you tonight!!! So excited!

Dear Snow,
Thanks but I've had just about enough. Take your friend "cold temperatures" and head on out. Tell your buddy spring to get here quick!

Clean yourself! I don't want to. Sorry I've ignored you so!

It's OK

- To be a whiny baby when I'm sick.

- To whine about this darn flu shot! Ouch, these things hurt!!!

- To not watch the debate last night. I've educated myself and will continue to do so with out listening to 2 people attacking one another. Just a whole lotta noise to me.

- To skip Zumba class twice this week. I have a double ear infection. I guess its ok, right?

- To unfollow a few bloggers and twitter users after their hate based tweets last night. I can't believe how cruel and mean people get when it comes to politics.

- To want to hibernate when the weather gets cold and rainy.

- That I get pissed when bloggers link up  but don't actually "link up"

- To have spent a little to much money on my stay-cation last week. I love shopping by myself.

-To be very frustrated with work and on the verge of not wanting to go in today.

- To crave unhealthy food when I'm sick. I wanted a burger, chocolate and beer last night. I settled for soup and unsweetened iced tea.

- To be so very excited for post season baseball. Way to go Yankees, 2012 AL East Champs!

- To just about cry when the pharmacist asked me 3 times if I were pregnant and than once again for good measure before giving myself my prescriptions.

- To shamelessly promote myself and my giveaway. Just a few more days to enter. GO!

Wonderful News and not so wonderful news!

When I have the option of good new or bad I chose the bad first to get it out of the way!

So here goes the bad first. I have been sick since New Years Eve. At first I thought it was a cold. It seemed to settle in my chest on Friday and just got worse from there. I was nauseous, dizzy and couldn't breathe. I went to the doctor last and was diagnosed with Pertussis. Thats what I get for working with children. I'm in bed till Thursday and can't go back to work till Friday. This one is a nightmare. I was up all last night coughing and just trying to catch my breathe. I do have a great nurse who ran out and got me movies, ice cream, cleaned the entire house and slept on the couch just to make sure I was ok. I'm pretty lucky.

Enough of the bad stuff...

Yesterday we go our final preview of our wedding invitations! Our dear friend Susannah who is a the artistic director at Devine Design created them just for us. She has worked with me since April and through numerous changes.

I have known Susannah for years and when her youngest was a baby I would babysit. Our families became very close over the years and they are the most delightful people I know! I even had Susannah and her daughter Dani came with me the day I picked my wedding gown. Susannah surprised me yesterday and let me know that our invitations are at no cost and are a gift from her. This is such an incredible blessing. I can not thank her enough.  She worked her creative magic! She knew I wanted lots of POP, color, and I wanted them fun!

In other news...

-Still feeling terrible but I'm at work.

-Hoping the other 3 prescriptions are in!

- Wedding gown was delivered by UPS yesterday but I wasn't home. I can't wait to pick it up.

-I'm so proud of my man. He just enrolled himself back in college! I think I'm going to go out and buy him a pencil case and fill it with supplies:)

-Oh and look who came to visit this morning.

He walked right up to our neighbors deck then grabbed a bite to eat.

I was 10 minutes late for work too.

Update...

Since my post earlier today my health has taken a pretty rotten turn. Initially I thought I had a nasty case of hives. I thought something caused an allergic reaction; food, new detergents, soap? I made an appointment with my dermatologist because I was so uncomfortable. Throughout the day I also felt very tired, and my throat became kinda sore.

So here is the disgusting part.... I have what the dermatologist called Strep induced Psoriasis. Apparently I have a raging streptococcal infection working its way through my body causing these painful spots. Apparently the strep infection causes intense stress on the immune system and that can leave you susceptible to something like this. It comes on suddenly. Mine just started this weekend.

If you are counting this makes it 2 times I have had step this year. I work with kids who just love to pass on their germs. I've been prescribed 4 different antibiotics. Unlucky for me 3 won't be in until tomorrow at noon. :( My Dr also wants me out in the sun with no sun screen. I guess I have to sit out topless. I should have told her that is not happening. I am not about to make the neighbors go blind.

I feel like crap.
I'm cuddled on the couch extremely uncomfortable.

Over the weekend I started breaking out in hives. First they started on my chest moved to the stomach and now on my arms. I'm in pain. I itch and I just feel yucky. Thank goodness my dermatologist had a cancelation this afternoon as soon as I get out of work. I wish I could go right now.

This sucks!
