Woo weekend. I'm sure all of my east coast friends are feeling the pain that Irene has brought over the weekend. I keep looking at these pictures posted by others and my heart is breaking. Locally, we have had many roads washed away. Several local dams have broken and my county is considered a Disaster Area. Brian and I have been evacuated. Thankfully my best friend lives 8 minutes away in highlands and continues to have power. We packed the contents of our freezer and drove over yesterday afternoon. Currently there is no way out of our county. Although it is an inconvenience we are so lucky that none of our friends or loved ones have major damage.
We took these pictures before several dams broke in town yesterday.
These are a few from my parent's town in NY.

This road runs parallel with our town park. The road is gone and so is the park. |

Their town. Usually on Sunday this is where the local farmer's market is held. |
I hope that this post finds every one safe and sound.

These pictures are so scary. Glad to hear that you and your friends are all safe. Sending positive thoughts and prayers to everyone on the east coast
Oh, wow! These are some of the first pictures I've seen of the effects. Scary for sure. I know a lot of my family and friends in MD are totally without power. Praying everyone can go back to normal soon, and sooo thankful it wasn't worse!
Thanks Lindsay!
