Parent's Day Out

I was lucky enough to win 4 tickets to a Yankee Game a few weeks back. I knew it would be the perfect day to spend with friends. It would also be my 1st social outing with out Jack since he was born. So that's 6 months! It sounds crazier than it seems. My best friend's are also new parents and they have only been out 3 times without their son and he's a year old. We definitely deserve a parent's day out. On Sunday morning 4 parents dropped off their little munchkins at their grandparent's house and were off on their merry way. Trust me I felt so guilty leaving my little man but I knew we needed some time for fun too.

The tickets I won were VIP tickets and I won them through joining the Cystic Fibrosis Walk a Thon. The tickets were by far the best seats I've ever been in at Yankee Stadium. These type of tickets are basically untouchable unless you get them from a large corporations. I've been going to Yankee games for years and these were pretty incredible.

Responsible adults post game.

Mommy bought her little man his very first Yankee hat.

Although we had a blast but getting home and cuddling this little boy was the best part of my day!

Happies and Crappies

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Happies:

- It's already Friday. That kinda flew right by.

- Going shopping with my mom tonight for a bridal shower tonight1 I haven't bought a lot of maternity clothes so I've been getting creative with what I'm wearing but I really want something cute to wear to my shower.

- My best friend is getting married next week and I am so excited for her. I really can't wait!!!

- I've got a pretty great tan from vacation. Love that I can carry that summer glow into October!

- We received our first baby shower gift from my cousin and his family. We got one of our diaper bags from Pottery Barn Kids. I can not wait to use it!

Crappies:

- I'm in a post vacation rut!

- I've been working extra hours all week and bringing work home that I've worked on till 10 or later at night. Plus, I have to work tomorrow. I'm feeling really burnt out!

- Since I've been so busy I haven't had time to blog about our vacation.

- As a huge Yankee fan it was very sad to goodbye the best baseball closer of all time. Good night Sandman. Thanks for all the amazing baseball memories.

This Weekend I....

This weekend I was busy, busy, busy!!!

On Friday I worked some early hours and got out by 3 in order to go to the Yankee game. Everything was incredible EXCEPT the Yankees! Tampa Bay crushed us! We had amazing, cushioned, box seats! They were perfect for my achy, pregnancy back pains and the food was pretty great too.

Excellent seats

Funny guy

Apparently people think I have a "glow" I think I look a bit sweaty!

On Saturday both Brian and I put in an extra day at work and then head over to my cousin's graduation party. We had a day filled with fun, family and good food.

With all of this excitement we crashed on Sunday. I napped for 3 hours and did some minor cleaning. It isn't often that Brian and I have a day to just hang and relax. It always feels nice to cuddle on the couch and do nothing.

April...

Holy cow! March is really over?!?! It just seems like it flew by. I think it is because most nights I was out cold by 8:30! I guess boot camp will do that to you. I'm a sucker for pain or a glutton for punishment because I'm doing boot camp again this month. In case you missed it in Friday's post I felt pretty successful after the last class in March. I didn't lose any weight which was a bit of a bummer BUT I did lose 3.5 inches. I'm hoping for the same thing if not better this month. My first April class started this morning and I'm feeling great. Especially after eating all the goodies yesterday during Easter brunch.

We had such a beautiful Easter. We skipped the fancy Easter dinner and pretty clothes for a simple Easter brunch at my in-laws and a long family hike. It was perfect. Food was delicious. We indulged on some quiche (I made it), ham, chicken, mac and cheese, vegetables, pulled pork, cole slaw and a ton of other goodies. We got to enjoy a beautiful day out in nature with our family and all our dogs. For me it was the best kind of way to celebrate family and the beginning of Spring.

Bogart interacting for the first time with our nephew Ryan.
Seconds after this he pulled a clump of hair out of poor Bogart's ear.
Poor doggie.

Chubby baby cheeks!

Paul and Bogart are best buddies.
Paul wanted to hold my hand to protect his "Aunt Asqueena"from wild animals on our hike.
He protected me from all the bears, tigers and kangaroos out there.
I love the imagination of 3 year olds.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Easter as much as we did.

Happy April Fools day!

Happy Baseball Opening Day.

GO YANKEES!!!!

Throwback Thursday-Opening Day

So spring is officially underway and I'm ready for all the great things that come with it. Especially baseball. As a girl who grew up in the Bronx I'm a Yankee pinstripe kinda gal! As a kid we went to tons of games. My husband and I love to go to games. We celebrate his birthday with a Yankee game every year.

One of my most favorite days, EVER, was attending the Yankee ticker tape parade back in 2009. We woke up at 4am and drove to Hoboken NJ and took the ferry down to NYC. We froze! It was so cold and I remember being so hungry.

The day was going great until we got back to our cars. We took 2 cars and parked next to one another on the streets of Hoboken. Problem was it was permit only. OOPS! We got ticketed AND booted! Yep, $800 and removing the boot, later we were finally able leave!

What a mess! Still it was one of the best days!

PLAY BALL!
