Throwback Thursday- Disney World

Is it Friday yet? Yeah, didn't think so. It's been such a stressful week at work I'm ready for the weekend. I need a chance to really take a breathe and relax. Maybe I need yoga pants ore something!

So I thought I'd try a little something different today. I'm linking up with Ady for throwback Thursday. SInce I am craving a vacation I thought I would take it back to March 2008 when Brian and I went on our first vacation together.

I remember being so nervous, first because I have a terrible fear of flying but also sharing the same space with my boyfriend for the first time ever.

We arrived on my birthday and I got to wear the "It's my birthday" pin all week. I got free stuff and lots of attention the whole time.  Even got up on the stage and danced at Jellyrolls Piano bar.

The flower and garden festival were running when we were there.
Absolutely beautiful.

We stayed at the Coronodo Springs Hotel.
It felt like we could have been in Mexico. So relaxing.

Rock and Roller Coaster. I LOVE Brian's face and the fact that he admitted to me he did not like roller coasters or rides when we were on line. We were 5 days into our trip already.

Can't wait to go back.

Oh How Pinteresting

Oh happy Wednesday...
Its such a dreary, rainy day today! I'd be content sitting on my couch with my new book and television but my CEO is coming for a visit at work so I've gotta be on the top of my game today.
Until then...

Everyone Else is Doing It-Oscar Favorites

Happy Monday!

So I'm sure I'll be the ONLY one posting about the Oscar's today! I'll keep it short and simple.
I'm barely awake, considering that show went on and on. Seth MacFarlane was pretty funny. I enjoyed it for the most part.
What did you all think?
Here are a few of favorites.

Favorites Moments:

-Jen was by far my favorite. I loved she was in color when everyone was muted tones. The purple was beautiful and the back was just stunning.

- Jennifer Lawrence winning for best actress. She was so great in Silver Linings Playbook. Well deserved. Her fall made me love her even more. She is so real and I adore that about her.

-Ben Affleck's acceptance speech. Although I did not like  the movie his speech was incredibly classy.

- Adele's performance and acceptance speech. I adore her.

-Although I didn't like Reese Witherspoon's dress I love that her 13 year old daughter help her to pick it out!

Joseph Gordon Levitt who is just too cute.

Least Favorites:

-Come on now. What the....
This dress is awful! Hello NIPPLES!
I swear girls at my prom in 1998 wore that dress and that necklace from Claire's!
So very disappointed.

- Kristen Stewart...I just can't. Everything was just wrong.

All and all I'm pretty pleased. It was a good night. My mom treats the Oscars like her Superbowl. It's her favorite day of the year. The day is filled with food, dessert, and commentary.

I'd love to know what your favorites and least favorites were.

On Marriage and Debt

When I met my husband I had some debt. Who am I kidding, I had a lot of debt! Not only did I have the regular college loan debt; somewhere in the range $50,000 but a lot of credit card debt. I got stuck in that college rut, barely making any cash and putting everything including text books on my card. Add 10 years, 28% interest and here we are. Brian never even had a credit card so the idea of all of this debt did scare him. He was able to rest his mind knowing I never missed a payment and pay as much as double whenever I was able.

As we built a life together both Brian and I were able to pay off both of our cars before the purchase of our home and over the past 4 years we cut our debt by thousands. When saving for our wedding we made a promise to one another that we wouldn't put a thing on a credit card. We cut up my Visa and never looked back. Our entire wedding was paid for with whatever we had saved. It was a fantastic feeling knowing we didn't owe anyone anything after our wedding. All of our wedding gifts were put right in a savings account and we were able to put the money towards our honeymoon, purchase new windows, a down payment for our new Jeep and just recently wrote a rather large check to pay off all of my old credit card debt. I love that we are able to spend that money and put it towards our savings, improving our home and our new car.

Although the feeling of paying off that debt was pretty amazing I can't help but still feeling a little guilty that the debt was all mine. I regret being a stupid college kid and a stupid 20 something too. Being materialistic really got the best me. Don't get me wrong I still love pretty things. Shoes, clothes and housewares still get the best of me but only when I have the cash for them. Brian is the polar opposite. He could care less about buying anything. I think he still wears dress pants he had in high school. He keeps me on track too. He reminds me of what is important and what we really need in life. Most of the time he is right. The other times Home Goods gets the win!

Have you had experience in credit card debt? Have you been able to pay it off and if so where were you able to put that extra cash?

Oh How Pinteresting

Happy Wednesday! I've been so busy trying to get my house organized I can't believe the week is half over. We have started painting our bedroom and I've been making some organizing changes around here. I guess it's my internal clock assuming its time for spring cleaning. In the meantime its been raining and cold so we are waiting on the second coat. To bad our entire upstairs is in shambles. We've been sleeping on the couch and it has not been comfortable. I can't wait till its all done so I can show it off.
Until then I'm linking up up with Michelle:

I Admit It

Source: cafepress.com via Pam on Pinterest

It's true. I'm the crazy dog lady. If you follow me on Twitter you probably already know. I post pictures of Bogart whenever I get a chance. Twitter isn't the only place either. I'm sure all of my Facebook friends have had their fill of that little terrier face. All my phone pictures are filled with Bogart's face. I'm cool with it. Parents post pictures of their children. I just post my fur baby. If Bogart wasn't so darn nuts I would probably have about 5 more. I might loss my husband in the process. Bogart is my best friend. Sometimes it makes me so sad seeing him get a bit older. He will be 10 April 2nd. His face is turning gray and he rests a bit more than he plays but he still looks like that puppy from so many years ago. How can't you not want to take a picture of this face?
