Bridal Shower...The Cake and a call for guest bloggers

Today is March 29, that can only mean one thing. My wedding is 1 month away. Holy Moly thats 30 days. I have started to feel the stress. With all the wedding things happening I could really use some guest posts for the last month of April and maybe a few while we are one on our honey, possibly in May. I have already heard from my awesome friend Ali but I need a few more. If your interested please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Now on to my bridal shower cake.

Check out this amazing creation!

This was the cake my very good friend Marie made for my bridal shower. Since my shower was held at a winery this was the most perfect cake. Most of my guests thought it was a prop. It was not only beautiful to look at it tasted amazing. Chocolate cake and raspberry filling. It was delicious! I am so glad we have some left over. It was truly a work of art. Marie will also be making my wedding cake so I really can't wait to see how perfect it is. In addition to this amazing cake we had cannoli dip and cannoli crackers. YUMM! My irks and momma hit it out of the park with this one!

Bridal Shower Palaia Winery

My bridal shower was held at the Palaia Winery in Highland Mills, NY.
It was perfect and so ME.
It was country, quaint, and cozy. All the tables were wine barrels and they were set close together so everyone could talk and socialize.
The weather was fantastic for March so all the windows were open and we could see the amazing trees blossoming.

The centerpieces were wine bottles filled with Wildflowers. All the labels, which were old photos of the Palaia winery were also wine barrel table tops.

Fruit, cheese and crackers for appetizers.
Main food served were wraps, and salads made by family and bridesmaids.

The favors were wine glasses with an adorable wine charm.
We all had to purchase a bottle of wine on the way out too.

My aunt came up with this adorable poem to attach to the wine glass favors.

"Kristina and Brian met somewhere along the way. They fell in love and have set their day. Thank you for joining the shower fun as Kristina and Brian prepare to become one."

It was the most amazing day. I am so grateful and beyond lucky.

Can't wait to go back and hear some local bands and enjoy some of their wine.

Bloggy Bridal Shower

Today I am linking up in honor of the lovely Brooke's bridal shower hosted by the very awesome Amanda.  I have been a huge fan of Brooke's blog since I started blogging. I have enjoyed following her wedding journey!

I went with a bright, vintage picnic theme.  Its classic just like Brooke. I'd include aqua, coral, yellow and pinks. I want to go bright! I mean Brooke's Blog is BRIGHT WISHES, right?!?!

Best wishes to Brooke and her Mr Charming. Wishing you many years of love and happiness!

Bridal Shower Weekend Recap

This weekend was BUSY!

Saturday I celebrated my best friend's bridal shower.  Jaclyn and I have been friends since Junior year in high school. She moved over an hour away after college but now we both live in neighboring towns. We live 8 minutes from one another which makes late night drinks and gossip very easy.  Jaclyn was engaged the night before Valentine's Day and will be getting married November 5th.

It was the perfect little outdoor party. The sun was shining although rain was in the forecast. (It didn't come till just as the party ended.) Finger foods, cannoli cake, cookies, delicious Sangria, teas and lemonade! The kids all played in the pool and the guys hung out by the pool house drinking and smoking cigars. Thank goodness for no bridal shower games! She blew through the gift opening in no time. My kind of shower!
Sorry for the blur. She moved so fast.  This is part of her gift in addition to an "I DO" tank top I made for her.

I also purchase this awesome pillow from Next Door to Heaven She absolutely loved it. As did the majority of the guests. Yay me!

Beautiful Maid of Honor

Me and my girl.

Presents

Wonderful cannoli cake

Me and my favorite girls.

On Sunday we spent a fantastic day with my parents. We celebrated my mom's birthday! She was so happy and that makes me happy to enjoy herself.
I really hope all of you were able to enjoy your weekend as much as I enjoyed mine.

Exciting purchases

I'm super excited!!!!

I have found my bridal shower dress and I am in LOVE! This picture doesn't do much justice but silhouette and ribbon empire really is beautiful and looks great on my body type. Plus I'm a sucker for lace.  My favorite part is I picked it up for $50!

Evan Picone

I also stubbled upon the Jessica Simpson Dress collection in Nordstoms and holy crapper I LOVE them. They are super feminine and figure flattering. I may have to go back for a rehearsal dinner dress. This is by far my favorite. Imagine how cute it would be with a pair of nude pumps!

Another exciting purchase were wedding shoes. I want to make sure I added some color to my wedding and shoes were a place I knew I could do it. I have been trying to find shoes with a small heel. I love my fiancé but he is only 1 inch taller then me and I always feel like a fat amazon woman when I wear heels. (Do they maker heighters for men's shoes???)  There is color and the heel is modest enough for me to walk and feel comfy. I think I may have found the perfect ones. I really like them however not sure is I am loving them but its ok they were only $14!

Sadly, momma didn't find a dress today but I am confident we will get it some time soon!
