Pity Party for One

I'm just not into blogging today. Who am I kidding I'm not into anything today. I'd be happy just staying in my pajamas and having a pity party for one. Throw in some coffee and a Hallmark movie and I think I'll be set. But alas I have to work and come home to finish up cooking, cleaning and decorating for our holiday party tomorrow. Yes, I know I sound ungrateful and bratty. I know people have it so much worse and yes I feel guilty for feeling this way. Just a rough day.

So instead I leave you with my new favorite song. I mean, really, Eminem, 50 and Adam! Yes please.

For everyone else. I hope you have a fantastic Friday and a happy weekend.

Enjoy

It's OK

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK

- To wake up 2 hours early to decorate my front door.

- To be stressed about our holiday party on Saturday.

- To stay away from any one who has a stomach ache. I want to avoid the virus going around at all cost!

- To have gone free printable crazy.

- To be ticked that Blogger is saying my picture usage is at 100% and I can't upload any more photos until I purchase a larger package. Problem is when I look into it I'm only using 65%.

- To think this week has FLOWN by!!!!

- To already have spent my $100 learning bonus from work. Well, in my head anyways!

- To have gotten all of my friend's Christmas gifts in Babies R Us. One good thing about all of your friends are prego. Can't deny it was difficult entering the store and I may have cried.

- To have 90% of my holiday shopping complete. I still need ideas for my dad! He is so difficult to buy for. Any suggestions?

- To get excited to see packages on my front door.

What are you ok with this week?

OHP

Happy Wednesday! This week is flying by! Probably because we are hosting our annual Christmas party on Saturday and I still have so much to do. Don't you hate when that happens? Instead of blogging I should probably be cleaning something or food shopping before work. I cleaned our fridge and oven last night at 10pm.

Linking up with Michelle today for Oh How Pinteresting. Here are just a few things I'm loving these days.

DIY Holiday

Last year I was DIY gift giver. I made these, these and these. I was so surprised at the reaction of my family and friends. I though I was just being conservative, planning a wedding. They thought it was the greatest gift. This year I've decided to once again to add alittle DIY to the holidays.

Here are just a few of the ideas I'm loving this year.

Christmas Card

Framed In Joy Holiday
Create personalized holiday cards online at Shutterfly.com
Blogger photo uploader is not working with me this morning. For what reason I don't know and I'm a bit to tired to get frustrated with it so early in the morning. Instead of fighting with blogger I thought I would kick off the Christmas season by sharing our Christmas card. I usually don't do photo pictures but considering our wedding was only a few months ago it would be nice to share one of our favorite wedding photos with family and friends. Of course Bogart makes an appearance! He is probably the best part of the card!

Oh How Pinteresting- Gooble Edition.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Its such a crazy few days for so many of us. I didn't sit down till 10:30 last night. I also have to work till 6:30 tonight. Ugh! But its so worth it! I can't wait for mom's cooking tomorrow and spending the day with our families. This year I've decided to take a Zumba class early morning followed by our annual Thanksgiving hike with Brian's family and all our pups! Its nice that we are lucky enough to spend our holidays with both families. Taking the class and hiking makes me feel a tad bit guilty about gorging myself on turkey and pumpkin pie! What are your plans for tomorrow?

I'll be making sweet potato casserole tonight! Delicious!!!!

Pumpkin Tiramasu! I'm attempting to make this as well.

How about Black Friday? Are you guys planning on shopping? What are the best sales? I usually hit up my favorite shops mid morning on Friday for leftovers. I'm not into the mass hysteria. This year Brian's high school reunion is Friday night so I'm going to take it easy on the shopping.

From our family to yours HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I'm Thankful For...

Like most of us I spend November thinking of all the things I am thankful for. If I were to write them all down you'd find it hard to finish a list so long.

-I'm thankful for this warm home in a beautiful part of the country.

-I'm thankful for the husband, my rock; comedian and best friend.

-My parents who are a constant support.

-My friends who are more like family.

- My little Bogart who brightens up my day.

- Wonderful experiences, vacations and unforgettable moments.

-This year I am thankful we have the ability to spend Thursday with both our families.

- Good coffee to wake me up and better wine for calm me down.

-I'm thankful for this blog; a little place in the world where I can express myself and all the wonderful friends I have made.

-This year I am thankful for our newest angels. Although the loss of my Aunt Susan and our sweet baby where heartbreaking I am grateful they watch over us.

November not only reminds me of the things I have but also the people who are less fortunate from us.  us not forget all of our fellow men and women who are not as lucky as we are and do what we can to support, volunteer and give when we can.

Now its your turn. Grab a button and let us know what your thankful for!

Dare to DIY

A couple of weeks back I decided to take the Dare to DIY Challenge. The purpose of this challenge is to motive us to DIY projects through November and December. I loved the idea because I usually don't decorate for Thanksgiving and I'm usually so busy in December I don't take enough time for me to do the things I really enjoy. I'm very excited to participate.

This week our challenge was Dare to be THANKFUL.
At first I had a hard time with this one. I don't really know why. I think I just had a case of crafter's block. I painted a pumpkin we had picked in early fall. During Hurricane Sandy we brought our pumpkin inside and this is where it stayed. Ironically, a small pumpkin reminded me of how THANKFUL we are to have made it through the storm safely. "Give Thanks" just about says it all. I'm am so thankful our families and friends are safe, warm and able to celebrate with one another on Thursday.

My pumpkin sits on a cake plate my mother in law created for our spring wedding. These cake plates were used as part of our wedding centerpieces. Yet another thing I am thankful for. In addition to our painted pumpkin I purchased 4 small styrofoam pumpkins at Michael's this fall. I used my favorite Martha Stewart glitter and some spray glue to jazz it up.

For the next three Mondays I will be creating some goodies to share along with the hosts Two Twenty One, Maybe MatildaDecor and The Dog.

Up next week...
