New Ride

Last week was a tough one. On Thursday I got the all that Brian's Civic died on the side of the road. After taking it to the mechanic they let us know there was really no hope in fixing it. It's a bummer because it only has 150,000 miles on it. Honda's are supposed to last forever, right?!?! No luck for us. Thankfully we just got our tax return so we know where we are spending it.

Yesterday we took a look at a couple of cars. We've decided to go with an SUV/crossover. For piece of mind during these horrible winters we knew that an all wheel drive vehicle would be the best option. I already have a Jeep and it has been amazing in the bad weather. We narrowed it down to a 2015 Honda CRV which was amazing but ultimately was too expensive. We also took a look at a  few Subaru models. If all does well we will be the new owners of this bad boy before the weekend. We fell in love with the 2015 Forester. We are torn between a dark navy or beige. We will make the decision today. I'm thinking Brian may be the new owner of my old Patriot and I just might claim this one!

Party Like It's Your Birthday

Well, I have to admit they won't be much partying this birthday. Today I turn 35. Cringe.... When did I get old?!?! I swear I still feel like I've got to be in my 20s but I'm not! Today I am as close to 40 as I am to 20. Oh well! There are no complaints here. I love my life and the older I get the more I realize what are the important things!

Today started off driving Brian to work because his car died last week. Whose Civic dies with under 200,000 miles?!?! We are on the hunt for a new car. I'm hoping he'll take into consideration it's my birthday and I'll get the new car! If not its fine because I totally love my Jeep Patriot! Suggestions on nicely priced SUVs?

This birthday I'll spend my day at work. Not my idea of a good time and completely different from the years past. I'll fill myself up on some cookie dough iced coffee, wear a few new clothes I got from Old Navy, and chill out watching mindless tv until it's time to get ready for work.

My favorite birthday was spending my 29th at Disney World with this guy! We were only dating about 5 months. I had a full on meltdown on the plane ride in front of him. We laughed so much and played like little kids for 7 days. That week rates up there with some of my most favorite memories. Cant wait to make more with him and our little man!

Irish Eyes Are Smiling

Happy St. Patrick's Day...

These awesome shots were taking by my dear friend LoriDoll Photography

We wil be spending our day as usual at story time, doctor appointments and a little added shopping. A friend of mine is celebrating her wedding with a shower this weekend so I have to get something today!  It's difficult driving past our mall when heading off to Jack's clinical appointments. I always end up feeling a little guilty and then I want to buy him something. Who am I kidding, I want to buy him stuff all the time. He's spoiled with love and gifts too!

We had corned beef and cabbage on Sunday so today we'll celebrate tonight with a baked ziti.

Hope you have a lovely St. Paddy's Day!!!

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

I admit it, I am a Netflix binge watcher! I did it with Orange Is The New Black and House of Cards.

 My newest obsession -

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

I was hooked from the first episode which I'm surprised about because it's written by Tina Fey and I really am NOT a Tina Fey fan. In fact I find her annoying but the show is hilarious. It's based on a Ellie Kamper's (who I adore from The Office) character Kimmy who has been released from an under ground bunker after spending 15 years there. She's basically experiencing all of life's firsts at 29 years old after deciding to stay in New York City after an interview on the Today Show.

I love all the 1990's references, like her Jansport backpack, light up sneakers, scrunchies, The Babysitter's Club and Columbia House cassette tapes.

It's hysterical! Definitely worth watching. I'm just pissed I watched them all in one weekend.

Have you watched it?
What are your thoughts?

What are you loving on Netflix these days?

Spring Favorites for Jack

Yesterday I picked out some of my spring fashion favorites so I thought it would only be fair to share some of my favorites for Jack this season. I can't help myself when it comes to little boy clothes. I always thought it would be more fun to shop for little girls but I'm having good time dressing up my little man. I can't help a little boy in a fedora and polo shirt. What's not on this list is the pair of baby Sperry Topsiders I already bought him. I can't wait to see him in his little Easter outfit.

Where do you shop for your little one? I'm a sucker for Carters!

What are you loving for your little one this spring.

Spring Fashion Favorites

I'm so ready for Spring!!!  It finally feels like spring here today. It's sunny and almost 50 degrees. Too bad I'm sick again!!! This time its Tonsillitis with ear pressure. I feel like my ears are going to explode and I haven't been able to eat anything solid in days. I should be napping. Jack is but I'm too busy shopping for, lusting over, spring clothes.

I'm all and the sandals, pretty colors, linen and ankle length pants. I'm a big fan of blush and mint this season and as always I can't wait to break out my denim jacket!

What are some of your favorite spring items?

Currently

Taking...more time for myself and family. We stay in a lot the last several weekend. I used to be on the go all the time and the weekends were spent spending time with Jack, shopping and spending money. It wasn't much fun for him or my wallet. I realize spending time in our pajamas on the weekends can be perfect. Most weekends are now spent cooking for the week, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and just enjoying my husband and son (and the extra cash in my wallet).

Drinking... a lot of Dunkin iced coffee thanks to the refillable cups. $1.49, yes please. White chocolate raspberry coffee for the win!

Keeping a list... of all the events I have coming up in March. Wedding shower, baby shower, Confirmation and finding time to squeeze in my birthday.

Wishing... the opportunity I may have pans out!

Wearing... my winter best! Lots of sweaters, dark colors and scarves!

Hating... WINTER. It has been a brutal few months. It's dark, gray and very cold!!!

Reading...I haven't read anything in a long time. I am hoping to get The Fringe Hours. Heard lots of really good things.

Regretting...Not getting to the gym or Zumba at all. My body hates me and it's only going to get worse once I start getting back into taking care of my body.

Playing...Lots of toddler games! Setting up railroad tracks. Lots of ball toss and soccer.

Watching...Started House Of Cards this weekend and I wasn't as pulled in as I thought I would be. Bummed How To Get Away With Murder is over for the season. Did you watch the finale?!?!? AMAZING!!!

Loving...Spending time with Jack. We have become part of a story time at our local bookstore. He LOVES the other kids. I enjoy watching him interact and making friends!!! I love watching him try to hug all the girls!!!

Appreciating...The opportunity that I was given in hopes that it will pan out and things will get a whole lot better for my little family and me!

Counting down...Days until it's light out when I leave work at night, SPRING, green grass, tulips, ballet flats, pretty clothes.

Happy Friday Friends!!!

Quotes To Get You Through a Rough Day

There are some days in my life that are tough. Some days I have an overwhelming fear that I am not good enough, strong enough, making the right decisions or I'm not being a good enough mom. Some days I find myself overcome by Jack's Cystic Fibrosis. On these difficult days I try and focus on things that keep my mind in a positive place. It's not always easy but there are a few that help to get me through tough times.

- "Be You Bravely"

- "Hope is a little voice you hear whisper "maybe"when the entire world is shouting "no". "

- "Most of the things we worry about never happen."

- "Don't stumble over something behind you."

- "Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen."

- "You were given this life because you are strong enough to handle it."

-"Take a deep breathe. It's just a bad day not a bad life"

Do some days overwhelm you?

What do you do to get you through a rough day?

What are some quotes that help keep you in a positive place?

Just a little sidebar:  I have something going on today that could be BIG for our little family. I wish I could talk more about it but there is a lot of uncertainty and I'd like to keep it quiet until I know for sure! Positive vibes would be greatly appreciated!!!
