Christmas In Our Home

I love to decorate for holidays. Christmas is no exception! I can't believe it is here already. I feel like the weeks have just flown by. I feel like I just put everyone up and now I'll have to take them down soon. Christmas decorations always make me feel so happy! I love the look of a room with the only lights coming from our tree. Best feeling in the world.

Here is just a glimpse into my favorite decorations.

This year we have added a little stocking to our staircase. A few years back we decorated our own. I'm thinking next year we may treat ourselves to Pottery Barn stockings but these silly handmade ones make me smile. 

The stripped gift pillow was a Home Goods purchase last year. 

I just picked up the other pillow at Target this weekend. It's a Threshold and it was on sale for 30% off already. It reminds me so much for National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. 

Our tree is loaded with ornaments. I think we may need to get another tree at some point. Some of our favorites include the Cairn Terrier ornament, Mickey Mouse ears from Disney, Sully and Boo from Monster's Inc., polar bears, dolphin from our honeymoon in Bermuda, Ecto 1 and of course our National Lampoon's ornament.

Both the Believe sign and the lantern are scores from Home Goods. 

The large vase filled with ornaments was our centerpiece from my brother's wedding. 

The place mats are also a new purchase. Can't believe they came from Walmart. They are just so cute! 

I love our little console table. I filled it with some of our smaller items. I love the subway print surrounded by our candles, and homemade Christmas trees. 

I purchased the Pier 1 owl last year. I just love the Pier 1 animal decorations. I have a few hanging on my tree as well. The little bird I purchased at Target this year.


No house would be complete with out an adorable dog hanging out under the Christmas tree!

Here is just an extra bit of happiness that totally made my Christmas.

I work with children diagnosed with Autism. We had a last minute cancelation from our Santa so my dad ran down to my job and dressed up. He was by far the best Santa ever! He made our children so very happy. It brought tears to all of our eyes. 

That is what Christmas is all about. So happy to be his daughter.

Happies and Crappies

HAPPIES

- Getting out early all this week and next week. I love working early hours and getting home before 5pm. I actually spend time with my husband before he rushes out to the gym and we get to cook dinner together! 

- Went to a foot and tea spa with my mother in law on Wednesday. It was pretty fantastic! I'm all about getting pampered lately!!! 

- Getting to take my mom along for our sonogram this week. She has never seen one and it was pretty awesome! We got to see the baby move, kick, fist pump (must be a Jersey baby!), and even yawn. One of the most exciting parts of having a baby is seeing the excitement on our parent's faces. It makes me so happy. 

- Getting 2 sonograms this week. Our tech forgot to measure babies arm the firt time so I go to go back. She felt so guilty I had to go back that she spent some extra time doing fun stuff. She also printed out 6 more pictures of baby. We got to watch baby drink, move his/her mouth and pull its legs over the head. Baby is now 11 ounces and the heart rate is at 139. From what they tell me at the office baby is perfectly healthy.

- Home Goods trip last night. Bought lots of goodies!

- We are going to a tomato and corn festival this weekend. Bring on the goodies!!!

CRAPPIES

- I took Bogart to the vet for senior blood work and a shot. When the tech had a needle in he jumped and game himself a nasty bruise. I feel terrible about it. He seems ok but I hate to know he could be hurting. Plus, when did my baby get to 10 years old????

- Sleep just plain old stinks lately. I've tried the couch lately but I do miss my husband and my bed.

What is your shopping weakness? 
Hello, my name is Kristina and I am addicted to Old Navy and Home Goods. I have a shopping addiction in general. It's bad!!! I can't turn down a sale either. 

What is your food weakness? 

I'm a foodie. I love trying new and interesting things. Most recently I've been obsessing over Cuban food. 

What is your go to movie to watch when nothing is on? 

I love the New Year's Eve scene and the Brooklyn Bridge scene. I could watch them a hundred times over!!! 

What is your go to breakfast food? 

If my waist would allow me I would eat an everything bagel on the regular. Since that is not an option I'm a fan of smoothies. My favorite is coconut milk, banana, peanut butter, ice and spinach! Yum! 

Do you drink coffee? If so how do you take it? 

I DO!!!! I'm a simple girl, skim milk and 1 equal!

Absolutely OBSESSED

Recently I have been obsessed with with Mangiacotti products. Their earth friendly products made it very easy for me to fall in love. A few weekends ago mom and I went shopping at the most adorable store, The Chocolate Goat.

This store carries the cutest things, including amazing chocolates, a huge selection of Vera Bradley, Bronnely soaps, specialty teas and my most favorite things, Mangiacotti!

I seriously could buy everything they have to offer.

A few of my favorites are the Lavendar Air Freshener.
I use it in the car. It has a soft scent and doesnt make me sneeze like all the others. It smells AMAZING.

I also love the Lemon Verbena Kitchen Soap. The bottle is fantastic but the scent is even better. My entire kitchen smells amazing.

Backyard Visitors

Just a few more reasons I love my home!

Sorry about the blur. My camera is junk! 

This big momma apparently has babies each year but we haven't seen them. She came around much earlier last season but I'm thinking as the summer ends she needs to bulk up for the winter. NJ instituted the bear hunt last year so it was so nice to see her again this year. 

How sweet are they? Love seeing them out in our backyard. They come so close and aren't afraid. There is even a tiny baby bouncing around the neighborhood. She was to quick and scared for me to take her picture.
