LIFE, LOVE AND A SPLASH OF SOME GLAMOUR

Our Engagement Story

Brian proposed to me on September 29, 2010. I had worked 17 hours at a retreat the day before and only got about 4 hours of sleep (I kinda thought something was up). We got up early and played softball. I can't say if I noticed Brian acting strange but he was definitely not playing well that day. I guess he had a lot of things running through his head. We got to the orchard and it was PACKED! It was a very hot day for the end of September. After we climbed some trees and picked some apples we sat in the orchard to relax. I was sitting out in the sun. Brian called me under a one of the old apple trees at the back of the orchard. The tree branches hung down to the ground. He got down on his knee and simply said "Will you marry me?". What did I do/say/think???? I laughed! All I did was laugh, no tears, no words, closed my eyes and laughed. WHO DOES THAT?!?! LOL What was going through my head? Well, all I could think was think he had to get up because I didn't want him stung by any of the bees (severe allergy) I finally spit out "Of course" and pulled him up off the ground. It was wonderful!

At the orchard there is also a winery so we found a staff, explained we just got engaged and would like to buy a bottle of champagne or wine. She was so thrilled she announced it to everyone in the orchard and they treated us to a bottle of wine. People from all over the orchard were coming over and congratulating us. My favorite part of the day was telling everyone else and sharing our joy!
