I RAN

To most of you the mere thought of going out for a jog is no big deal but for me its pretty huge. I never run outdoors and haven't run at the gym since May. This is a big deal for me. I have always been bit jealous of people who like to run. I never have but I'm willing to try it out again. I always think I look terrible when I run so I grabbed my kicks around 9pm and ran in the dark. It was great and I felt great. I was able to run for about 30 minutes. I took on a big hill in our development twice. I wasn't able to make it up to the top but more than half way. I wish I could have made it all the way up but I know I can with a little more work.

I have always been my own worst enemy. I get in my own head and tell myself I'm not good enough. I am in need of a change in my life and I'm hoping this may be just a little bit of what I need. I'm a bit sore today but I took a nice long walk. I'll try and run again tomorrow.

Any runners out there who have some advice for me?

Have a fantastic weekend!

Great job! The hardest part is putting on your shoes and getting out the door. I crave running now! I love listening to my ipod and zoning out while running...it's kind of like my meditation for the week! You will learn to love it! And buying a cute pair of running shoes helps with motivation too ;)

You should go check out The Perfect Compilation Tape.... she's a runner and I'm sure she'd have tons of advice for you.

I have none... I don't run. I don't think I'd even run if a tiger was chasing me.

That is so awesome! Running is hard, but it's addicting. I've been running consistently for the past year, but my endurance is still really low. It can be discouraging sometimes, but the "high" I experience after a really good run makes it all worth it.

Keep on keepin' on. You're amazing!

Great job! Keep it up and you'll be up the hill in no time!

No advice, but I can relate! I couldn't run at all until about two years ago, and even now I just run intervals, not a long time at once. But I still feel pretty good about it.

Good work, Kristina! I am not a runner either, but sometimes I think I want to be.
