Happy Crafty Valentine.

Happy Valentine's Day cuties! What kinda lovey dovey stuff are you guys doing today? We celebrated on Sunday so tonight will be pretty low key. Probably a very romantic dinner or left overs and a trip to the gym to work off our amazing dinner from Sunday. More on that tomorrow.

Just wanted to say thanks to all my new followers from yesterday, you made my week!

I saw this adorable craft on Pinterest...Where else?!?!

Remember this craft from Christmas?

Its very similar idea. Since I had no real Valentine's decorations in the house I thought this would be a cute little decoration for my entry way.

I used the floor wax, which I believe is flammable so I have used a flicker light candle instead of an open flame. Please do not use an open flame, just in case!!!

-To make the hearts I used cute little stickers and placed them in no particular pattern.
-I put the top back on and added a small amount of floor wax and swirled it around, with the top
-Add the glitter, put the top back on  and shake it all over.
-Once the glitter dried I pealed the stickers.
-It was hard getting my hand in so I use tooth picks to pry the stickers off.
-Add the flameless light or some candies. I suggest covered if you want to eat them!

Cute right?!?!

What's your love story???

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
Brian and I met in October of 2010

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
We met on Match.com I was so against my dating "principles" at the time to do online dating. I'm so glad I did. I met the guy I'm going to marry.

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry?
Not married but tying the knot on April 29th

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
We are getting married at the Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta NJ. We have sent about 60 invites and hoping to have 100-120 guests. I guess thats just about medium?

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another?
This one is a bit funny but he calls me Kristineer Weineer, or just Weiner  and I call him, Bri or Brimy...Never in public!

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
- His smile
- He is kind
- He is supportive

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
Brian proposed to me under an apple tree at the same orchard where we had our first date. It was very romantic! Check out the whole story here.

Engagement photos

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
I love Brian but he is not the romantic type. Brian doesn't believe in all the hype. Its hard to ask some one to be a bit more into things like holidays and anniversaries but he just isn't. I can't tell you the number of hints he has been given. There have been several of the above I got didley squat! It sucks!

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
I think I'm just about both. We are a couch and movie couple a lot of the time so a sunset dinner sounds really sweet!

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
Valentine's Day falls on a stinky Tuesday this year....BORING! We were planning on celebrating this weekend but I have a fiancé with the flu. Maybe we can reschedule dinner at our favorite winery and restaurant

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day? I just ask that it be acknowledged.

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love. HAVE FUN!!! When Brian and I have fun together, whether it be softball, hiking we always feel closer to one another.
Playing softball.

14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.

It is OK and NOT OK

Its Ok Thursdays

Its Ok...

- To be so fed up with backstabbing. We are adults! Can't we act like adults.

- To skip the venue wedding tasting. I've tried the food. Its awesome so no need to spend extra cash on a tasting.

- To be completely addicted to My Fitness Pal. It is the best weight loss application ever. I love this thing. It has been a huge addition to my diet! I've been doing it for 10 days. Today is another weigh in. Wish me luck.

- To get so excited for the mail everyday. Some of our invites have went out so that means a bunch of RSVPs are coming back. This is crazy! My wedding is getting so close.

- To get home from work at 8:30 last night, go straight to bed and fall fast asleep till 8 this morning.

- To have started the Feb Photo a Day Challenge and failing miserably at keeping it up. Ugh.

Now for my own spin on its OK Thursday...

Its NOT OK:

-Gisele, it's not OK to act classless. Even if your beautiful you still look like an idiot dropping the f-bomb about your husband's teammates. BAD MOVE!

-Its NOT OK to have a suspected murderer have supervised visits in his home! The Powell family tragedy saddens me because its a total failure of the system! I hope that man rots in hell.

-Its NOT OK to criticize the Clint Eastwood Chrystler add for being to political. Nothing was said last year when Eminem did the same type of commercial.

Happy Thursday Friends!
Have a lovely day.
xoxo

Fab Valentine's Challenge, 2 in 1

Valentine’s Day Challenge

Today's challenge, not really more like Tuesday's Challenge, Worst Date Ever and because I'm behind Wednesday's challenge too

I still shake my head when I think about this one.
I had just gotten out of a 1 year abusive relationship. As I was going through the healing process of the end of that type of relationship I decided to not date anyone . After about 6 months friend of mine thought it would be a good idea to set me up on a blind date. In the mean time I had been spending time with another guy I really kinda like so I did go in with a closed mind.

It was so memorable I can barely remember his name...Seriously!

We met at a Irish Restaurant and off the bat I thought he was a little older then I was. I think I was about 24. He def had a good 10-15 years on me. Initial thought, what was she thinking!?!?! There wasn't much chemistry and to be honest I went into the date on the defense. The best part of the date is when he took a call from his EX WIFE and 5 year old daughter. I mean really? Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with talking to your daughter at the table but then a 15 minute conversation with your ex wife? He could have very easily excused himself from the table. I thought the date couldn't get any worse but it did. He insulted my SHOES! Never, never, never make a crack at my shoes! That pretty much sealed the deal! I mean who insults their date the first time meeting some one?

As we left the restaurant I let him drive away first so I could go back in and have a drink at the bar by myself. Definitely the best part of that night!

What are some of your date horror stories?

Now on to Wednesday's challenge...
Valentine's Outfits
SInce Valentine's Day is on a Tuesday this year Brian and I will most likely do something fun the weekend before. We have a gift certificate to our favorite little Thai place so we will probably end up using that for a nice dinner. We have also been hiking a lot this winter...I mean its been in the 60s this week. So I'm hoping to do that or get to the gym together. Thanks to MyFitnessPal I have gotten serious about losing weight and keeping track of everything. We have been working out hard core together.

I'm thinking of actually wearing something cute but not to fancy out to dinner.
This is what I wore last year when we went to a winery and dinner for Valentine's Day.

You can't see the bottom but I have on blue skinny jeans and over the knee black boots.

This is what I'm planning on for this Valentine's Day.

V-Day Pretties

I just bought this shirt at Forever 21 and I LOVE it!
I have the wide leg, high waist jeans that are fantastic for my shape.
Just don't have those just mint shoes or a similiar clutch.
I can work on that.

Valentine Challenge.

I'm feeling like getting back to day to day things and getting this blog back to normal too. I've had this post, linking up with Neely, scheduled for some time. Nothing like a little love to make you feel comforted when your not feeling like yourself. Here goes!

Valentine’s Day Challenge

I don't even know if my favorite date was even really a date.

Brian promised me he would come and watch me play a softball double header on a Sunday morning at 8am. We had only been seeing one another for a fews weeks and I was pretty unsure he would show up that early on a Sunday morning. Around the 4th inning he hadn't shown up or called so I pretty disappointed. By the end of the game he had finally texted me telling me he had been lost and was so embarrassed. He drove around for over an hour. He got there in just the nick of time for the second game.

He sat at the game and cheered for me the whole time. Truthfully I was never all that good. I remember feeling so important that a guy would go out of his way to make me feel important. I had never really had that before or felt that type of feeling. I had always been negative about love and used that as a defense mechanism so I wouldn't get hurt. No expectations never led to any disappointments. Brian was different. Just by showing up at that game he changed my mind on love and expectations. From that moment on love seemed easier. He made it very easy to fall in love with him.

The day was made so much better when he FINALLY kissed me.

Although my favorite date didn't have any glitz, glamour or any thing fancy story of dinner and dancing it did have everything to do with the way Brian made me feel. Almost 4 years later and lots of dates under our belt that day is probably still one of my favorites.

My Aunt

First off, a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart for every single thought and kind word.

My cousin found a few really wonderful pictures and I thought I would share them.

This picture makes me happy and sad all at the same time.
Wasn't she beautiful?
This picture was taken in Miami, 1980. I was a few months old and my Aunt Susan was 23.

This picture is my absolute favorite.
It was probably taken around 1960
My mom, Aunt Susan and Uncle Stephen.

Thank you again.
I feel somewhat at peace.
